Enflamed in Celestial Fire
Title
Enflamed in Celestial Fire
Description
The composition of Enflamed with Celestial Fire revolves around a nude woman dancing on a beach beneath rays of light emanating from a cloud. Her reflection is visible in the water beneath her while another figure swims toward her, from the left side of the painting. About the work the artist says, "The sun's rays are inflaming [sic] her with celestial fire--but the sun's rays are not only inflaming her with celestial fire she's in love and the object of her love is floating under water." Five white shore birds stand around in the tide as well, creating a semi-circle around the dancing figure’s reflection. Both bottom corners also have orchids in the foreground. On the left the orchid is much lower down, with only its yellow and orange petals visible but on the right side a white, orange and tan blossom grows high on a stem. Mountains are painted in the distance.
