Music in the Air
Title
Music in the Air
Description
Fetherston said about this work, "When I painted this painting I wished you to hear music, church bells, stars, music, etc." A blue white and green groin vault frames the ambiguous space of this painting. A circular window allows the view of a nude figure plucking the petals from a white flower. Another nude figure is shown on the right side of the canvas but it is unclear whether she is in a picture on the wall or standing in a doorway. Abstract flowers and a curtain fill the left hand edge of the painting
