Debutantes

Title

Debutantes

Description

Debutantes depicts a vast desert landscape with some large flowers in the foreground. The ground is a wash of browns and grays that meets the sky at a hard, straight horizon line. The sky is a wash of yellows, oranges, and blues. One pink orchid plant grows up the left side of the painting to almost the full height of the canvas. A second stem of white orchids arches over the bottom of the composition. A third type of orchid with pink flowers fills the right side. All of the flowers and leaves are somewhat translucent, allowing the background to show through them.
