An Orchid from New Granada
Title
An Orchid from New Granada
Odontoglossum Vexillarium
Description
A light orange, white, beige, and green background establishes an ambiguous setting for this painting of an orchid. The orchid with pink and light blue flowers fills the bottom portion of the painting. While the colors of the flowers vary, they all have a yellow center. The pale green leaves appear to have been drawn first then colored in. The background is visible through the transparent paint that colors the flowers.
