Waves and Corpuscles
Title
Waves and Corpuscles
Description
Waves and Corpuscles depicts a scene of a young girl gracefully flinging herself off of a diving board. The artist explains that, "She is going through the air [and] creates Waves & Corpuscles, which are more alin [sic--alien?] than anything in the world today. One corpuscle hits another and another forever." The water beneath the girl is painted in washes of various shades of blue, green, mauve, and brown. On the bottom left side is a plant with a five-petaled orange flower and oval shaped green leaves. Above the figure is a bridge supported by arches and its reflection in the water. On either side of the bridge and behind it are loosely defined trees. On the left side there is also a deer, while on the right side are hints of orange flowers among these trees. The color and style of the sky echo that of the water.
